Understanding.

Yaz in April after the convictions of some Islamist terror plotters:

We must learn more about these murderous men

Yaz today:
Local election results show the country lurching right, in some parts even embracing the BNP. Instead of condemning the scum, Britons are instructed to "understand" why these voters are "driven" to vote for neo-Nazis.

"Yaz today..."

...All my troubles seemed so far away...

Interesting that the BNP are still being classified as "extreme right" in some places, whereas they are more accurately classed as extreme left. This came out of a discussion I read elsewhere a few months back, and the outcome then was that Fascism is extreme left, and that includes the BNP.

Apparently. (I'm no political expert -- I just read a lot!)

Labelling the BNP has far right is to do with how the left views politics.

They envisage themselves as the centre of the political universe and reason that they disagree with conservatives but disagree with the BNP even more, therefore the BNP must be a more extreme version of conservatism.

also something to do historically, with the soviet commies (who were clearly extreme lefties) fighting the nazis... who must therefore, by some simpleton implication, have been extreme rightwing types.
