That struck me as well. It's a tough life being a cabbie, everybody hates you for charging such outrageous prices. That's why mini cab drivers aren't so full of grudges.
Not wishing to offend the vast majority of law abiding cabbies but perhaps it is the sort of trade that suits lonely misfits who might in turn be more likely to be mass muderers, no offence to the vast majority of law abiding lonely misfits either.
