'Protection'

In Richard Gott's latest article the former paid KGB stooge, writes:

Land devoted to growing cannabis, coca and poppies has grown five-fold since the 1960s, and the Farc found new support by offering its protection to rural workers on these plantations.

That's awfully good of FARC, protecting all those poor workers. It seems to be a stock euphemism of his, since in a previous article he wrote:

Land in Colombia devoted to growing cannabis, coca and poppies has grown fivefold since the 1960s, and the Farc has long provided protection to the rural workers on these plantations, as well as exacting tribute from the drug barons.

Using almost the exact same phrase to absurdly misrepresent a situation several months apart is very strange. Writers tend to express similar ideas in different ways in order to keep it fresh, the fact that Gott is repeating himself suggests to me that these are talking points he has agreed to propagate. It wouldn't surprise me if he is back on the payroll of a foreign government.

NUTfest '08- They Take A Stand On Indoctrination.

Letting propagandists into schools, they're against it:

Members of the National Union of Teachers said military visitors to schools pushed a partisan view of becoming a soldier which promotes the career prospects, training and travel, while downplaying the "fatal realities".

In a motion put forward at the union's annual conference in Manchester, they said: "Schools should not be conduits for either the dissemination of MoD propaganda or the recruitment of military personnel."

Except when they are for it:

Muslim clerics and other faith leaders should be sent into state schools to teach children about religion, according to a teachers' union.

Pupils should also be given the time and facilities to pray during the school day, it said.

The system drawn up by the National Union of Teachers would replace traditional religious assemblies - which must be broadly Christian - as part of a radical overhaul of faith-based education in England.

The memory of Latin American Marxist revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara is being honoured in Cuba 40 years after his capture and summary execution.

About 10,000 people are attending a ceremony at his mausoleum in Santa Clara, the town where he once fought a battle during Cuba's revolution.

Raul Castro, brother of ailing Cuban leader Fidel, is at the event.

Other commemorations are being held in Bolivia and Venezuela, countries where the Argentine-born hero was active.

Che Guevara was a psychopathic mass murderer whose greatest joy was executing defenceless peasants. When he justifiably received the treatment he had meted out to so many others he squirmed and begged to be spared because he was special, "Do not shoot! I am Che Guevara and worth more to you alive than dead." Some hero.

In the Guardian Richard Gott, who was formerly a paid KGB agent and is currently a Hugo Chavez groupie, writes that Guevara " He was a certainly a great and impressive figure, someone who clearly secured loyalty and affection from those he worked with", not really, even Fidel Castro thought that he was such a tosser that he made sure that he got sent off to Bolivia to be killed. Possibly Castro's first and last good decision.

Labour Leadership Contest.

It looks as though John McDonnell is going to be the Labour left's candidate to run against Gordon Brown. What does it say about the state of the Parliamentary Labour Party that an unapologetic supporter of mass murder can get the signatures of forty plus Labour MPs? Ironically his big selling point is that he's anti war.

Update: Only 27 Labour MPs are sufficiently degenerate to sign John McDonnell's nomination papers. Perhaps he should go on hunger strike until he is placed on the ballot.

Waste Of Money.

It is well known that former Guardian coment editor, Richard Gott, had to resign from his post a decade or so ago when it was revealed that he was a paid 'Agent of Influence'. This I think tells you something about how inefficient the KGB were, paying Richard Gott to betray his country is like paying Paris Hilton to act slutty, as Gott's latest offering demonstrates he is more than willing to do it for free:
