Sally Bercow is so unpleasant that she can actully make people feel sorry for John Bercow whereas Andrew Green of Migration Watch seems like a pretty decent sort of person who has been useful in bringing facts into the debate about immigration.
His sensitivity to being smeared is more than understandable given the nature of the topic but by deciding to threaten the less charming of the Bercows with a libel writ he has managed to make her deserving of support.
Yes her comments were offensive and both slimed Andrew Green and trivialised the holocaust but stupidity should not be punished in a court of law.

Agreed! Pistols at dawn are so much more satisfying than the tedium, complexity and cost of court proceedings.

If someone implied that you were a rapist would you sue them (if you could afford it)?
Surely being compared to Hitler is like being compared to a rapist?
Agreed. Why give the dozy mare any more of the oxygen of publicity?

I don't think my reputation could be damaged by anything Sally Bercow said. The "You're just like Hitler" gambit is so common that it even has a "law" of debate devoted to it.
She is a member of the political class. Why should we accord them any sympathy, do we get any from them? Open your mouth too wide then take any consequences that are delivered; don't try for the sympathy vote.
Well agreed with what you said, but that Sally Bercow, you would though, wouldn't you?
Mark- if the stuff she confessed to last year about jumping into bed with anyone who bought her a drink, the I might have already done so..... not really I'm too stingy to buy drinks.
You think stupidity is its own reward?
