Just So You Know
When men commit crimes all men are partly responsible, however if they are MONAs then there is no reason to draw any conclusions at all.

Ms Brooks' brain fart on this issue is a Grauniadesque classic of the genre.
'Thus no official data exists on the ethnic or religious background of perpetrators of this form of child abuse, and local charities have stated publicly that they do not consider it a race issue.'
What a surprise ! Move along, nothing to see here !!
Both Ms Brooks, and the Graun's headline writer, appended the term 'dubious' to any suggested statistical linkage between particular offences and particular ethnic minorities. In the world of happy clappy multicuturalism these types inhabit, to admit the possibility of any such linkage is simply inadmissable- hence this travesty of an article.
The term "men of no appearance" seems to have been originated by an Australian journalist called Tim Blair to refer to the Oz meeja's unwillingness to report the ethnicity of criminals of the "Lebanese" persuasion.
It is understood and safe to use in the Unrighteous parts of the blogosphere. Beyond that, well don't blame me if it gets you blackballed from your club.
When I said "safe" I didn't mean "Is it PC?", I meant will people know what I mean or just ask the same daft questions that I just asked. Or I could just say "men of no appearance", I suppose.

Groan.
I'm struggling here.
MONA = Men Of N... A...?
'No alcohol'? 'Negroid appearance'?
Men Of No Appearance- ie the press goes to great length to avoid mentioning what they look like.
Also YONA = Youths of No Appearance
According to Jack Straw, it's all down to fizzy testosterone. Just youthful high spirits, innit?
Aha, is that an official abbreviation or does it just exist in the 'blogosphere? Is it safe for me to use?
Mark Wadsworth- as far as I know it only exosts in the blogosphere.
Mark,

Ta for update.

I think it's a bit too obscure to use outside of blogland.
