doctors are customarily very gossipy about their cases
Really so if I, er I mean someone else entirely, were to go to the doctor seeking treatment for the various diseases they caught from an sordid encounter with an unwashed hobo the doctors will feel free to chat about those afflictions with their mates.
So much for medical confidentiality.

The operative word is 'cases'. They wont talk abut you personally but about the quality of your ailment. So you might be an "interesting rash" or "lump" but not you.
Medicine is often very impersonal in that area.
That's relieving to hear.
