Legal Question

If I wanted to kill somebody and therefore tricked them into coming with me to a country with whom we have no extradition treaty, and then killed them and escaped back to this country what crimes could I be charged with over here?

I suppose I ought to add a disclaimer that I'm not actually planning on doing this and in fact don't even have anyone in mind.

No expert, but I reckon you could still be charged with murder, even if you couldn't be extradicted

I'm sure your readers would be happy to give you suggestions for that too!

You could be charged with murder.

"8. A British subject can be indicted for murder or manslaughter in England and Wales even when he commits the offence outside the jurisdiction. The nationality of the victim is immaterial: section 9 Offences against the Person Act 1861." - CPS legal guidance

You COULD, in this ENTIRLY theoretical situation, find TWO countries that a) do not have Extradition to Britain, NOR with each other. You WOULD, however, have to be prepared to live the entirity of the rest of your life in a swamp in Madagascar, or something.

UK Liberty- Spoilsport!

FT- Madagascar's cool though. Lots of lemurs.

Make sure it's a country with the death penalty, and the UK won't extradite you.

Does not stop them deporting computer hackers to the U.S though, does it?
