Quote Of The Day.

About the inauguration:
On the plus side, this does mean the week after the death of Princess Di is no longer the stupidest moment in modern pop culture.

I'm not so sure. The memory of that long week still haunts me. Feelings were running so high that I genuinely fear for my physical safety if I had actually expressed a mildly negative opinion about the death of the Royal Brood Mare. I spent at least two weeks walking round with a fixed, mild and neutral expression, staring fixedly ahead and keeping my big fat mouth firmly clamped closed.

I recall getting on a bus in South London and the driver suddenly burst into tears and began to gush about the "loss". A bus driver, FFS.

It was a very scary, deeply unsettling and very un-British time and not something I want to experience again in a hurry.

Just be glad he was a bus driver and not a pilot or a surgeon.
