This is a fun story- teenage reality star & model jailed for her part in a burglary ring that targeted the homes of Hollywood celebrities. My favourite part:
Nick Prugo, another member of the gang who has admitted his part in the thefts, revealed they were able to gain access to Hilton's home after finding a front door key under the front mat.
He said they had chosen her because she was 'dumb' - but were shocked to find the key in the most obvious of places
Money can't buy common sense I guess.
I wish I had aspiring models breaking into my house.

My grandmother used to keep a spare front door key under a brick outside her front door. This perhaps doesn't sound so unsafe, except she had a tarmac drive and no garden, so there was just a door with a brick in front of it with her key underneath it.
It doesn't sound too safe, although presumably she wasn't a multimillionaire with lots of stuff to steal.
It's the guys who come with them who are unwanted.
We have a spare front door key kept in an imitation rock, which I put in a row of similar rocks. Two years later, I forgot my house key and tried to find the spare. The rock had been subsumed into the rockery, and I had to break a window. It took me an afternoon with a shovel to find the spare.
