In the UK today there is also vicious oppression against the black population as Joseph Harker explains:
The struggle to find greeting cards with black faces on them is a reminder that discrimination is still rife in the UKTruly he is the Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela of our times.
Update: What makes the article even funnier is that Harker's mother is white! One commentator, "Beaton the Donis" pictures the scene:
Joe: Here you go mum, happy mother's day!
Ma Harker: Thanks son. What a lovely card. Who's this on the front?
Joe: It's supposed to represent you mum.
Ma Harker: But she's... black?
Joe: And so are you mum.
Ma Harker: Um, no, Joe, I'm white. Your father is black.
Joe: Sorry mum, but I'm a black man, and you're my mum, so therefore you must be black.
Ma Harker: Um, okay Joe... you got me a present as well!
Joe: Sure did. Afro hair products.
Ma Harker: Oh for fu...

Most Mother's Day cards have flowers on them not people. Another wanker!
the comments at the end of the article are genius! The one about my mum has a johnson and is a transvestite and i cant find one that looks like her is particularly good.
"Most Mother's Day cards have flowers on them not people. "
Facts shouldn't get in the way of these things.
"the comments at the end of the article are genius! "
Yes they are. I'm going to quote my favourite in the post.
He's brilliant, isn't he? That thread is such fun!
I scheduled my own post on it for tomorrow. Was going to schedule it for Mother's Day, but I thought the mods would have zapped most of the best comments by then....
Genius.
"Was going to schedule it for Mother's Day, but I thought the mods would have zapped most of the best comments by then...."
They've already done that and closed the thread already! The comment I've quoted is gone, as was my own entry arguing that it was an example of culturla genocide.
What was your deleted post on that thread?
"They've already done that and closed the thread already!"
Oh, they often do that at evening - so the mods can go home. I expect it'll open again in the morning.
"The comment I've quoted is gone..."
Awww! Good job you exerpted it.
He/she's a contributor, too...
Oops, crossed posts.
Cultural genocide. Was that it?
Mods are a bit trigger happy today.
I think my exact post was something like:
"In South Africa they had Apartheid, in the Antebellum South the has Jim Crow, in the UK we have discrimination by greeting card.
It is a form of cultural genocide, that forces persons of colour to accomodate themselves to a Eurocentric cultural deprivation framework. The fact that so few members of oppressed races realise this shows how entrenched the cultural dispossession is."
If he was a contributing member of society instead of a grievance merchant then he would have started up his own specialist greeting card company. Even if that was beyond him he could have written an article pointing out the opening in the market available to a quick witted entrepreneur.
Must be a better business to mooch.
Genius.
Harker is a political satirist of a quality unknown since Swift.
Either that or he's a raving lunatic of some description.
What? Oh...
Seriously though what a day! I'd been indifferent towards CiF lately but Harker, Bidisha and that Lola whatsnerame all at once. Makes Bindel look like Dostoyevsky. Cried with laughter at some of the comments.
Thank you for that link, Ross. It cheered me up no end. Joseph Harker is a national treasure. In these troubled times, he should be funded by an Arts Council grant to bring us at least three hilarious race-obsessed articles a week.
"Must be a better business to mooch."
It has taken him to where he is today.

It's like Christmas come early or late.

It's why I don't object to the Guardian's tax dodging, because they provide such a valuable public service.
hilarious post thank you, and for posting Beaton the Donis stuff, so unprogressivly deleted.
"hilarious post thank you"
Don't thank me, thank Joseph Harker.
